The ACT Fund provides grants to local medical providers to help reduce barriers that prevent under-resourced patients from accessing early cancer screenings and treatment. Funding supports current needs related to care, including medical bills, copays, transportation to appointments, or other obstacles that could delay or prevent treatment.

These efforts provide: habitat for plants and animals, great spots for fishing, canoeing, hiking, and birdwatching, and they absorb excess nutrients, sediment and other pollutants before reaching rivers, lakes, and other waterbodies.

This fund supports One City United, an organization that connects people to resources and organizations providing services which help end crisis, poverty and addiction and equip those who desire transformed lives.

The Chuck Stilwill Scholarship for Performing Arts is a $1,000 annual award supporting students with a passion for theatre and the arts. The scholarship is open to graduating seniors, or past graduates from accredited high schools in select Iowa counties, who are pursuing full-time studies at a not-for-profit college or university. Preference is given to students with experience at the Waterloo Community Playhouse or Black Hawk Children’s Theatre, and those studying Humanities or Fine Arts.

This fund provides funding to non-profits that support community cultural and arts education projects or programs that serve all youth and assure them of an opportunity to encounter the arts in many forms and ways.

In memory of David and Sharon Juon, this endowed fund supports the discretionary grant-making programs of the Waterloo Community Foundation.

This renewable scholarship honors the legacy of Dave Aumer, a youth advocate and supporter of the Waterloo Warriors hockey program. The scholarship can be renewed for up to 3 additional years following renewable procedures.

This scholarship supports post-secondary education of Upward Bound students attending a Waterloo High School. Eligible students are planning to attend a public college or university or community college as a full-time student, have a minimum GPA of 2.7, and have completed 40 of hours of volunteer service.

This scholarship is established for young pilots pursuing their Private Pilot's License at an accredited pilot training program at the Waterloo Airport, Independence Airport, Oelwein Airport, or Waverly Airport. This scholarship shall award $1,000 to eligible candidates, as long as there are sufficient assets in the Fund. A maximum of 5 awards can be offered in a calendar year.

This program supplies new winter coats, hats, gloves, scarves, boots and snow pants to under-resourced children in Waterloo.

This scholarship honors Liz Crowley, a long-time educator in Waterloo. She served as the first principal at the Dr. Walter Cunningham School for Excellence. She molded a positive and enthusiastic staff as she initiated innovative practices including a year-round calendar, same sex classrooms, enhanced parent commitment, and implemented the first Waterloo Leader In Me program. Two $1,000 scholarships are awarded annually to applicants graduating from East, West, or Expo in Waterloo, pursuing a degree in education, maintaining a minimum 3.0 grade point and plan to attend an accredited post-secondary institution as a full-time student.

LORAL stands for the Love of Reading and Learning. The mission of this fund is to inspire and support the love of reading and learning in children and young adults, primarily, but without limitation, in Waterloo and northeast Iowa.

The scholarship was established in honor of Mother Moon, who raised not only her 10 children, but was a de facto mother to many poor, disadvantaged and other neighborhood kids, including Ike Leighty. This scholarship will recognize students who are quietly and actively engaged in their community. Seven $1,000 scholarships will be awarded annually in partnership with Waterloo Youth City Council to help with the cost of advanced education for students graduating from East High, West High, Columbus, or Expo. Eligible students have a minimum 3.0 GPA, are attending a 2 or 4-year post secondary institution, and have given a minimum of 20 hours of volunteer service to the community in the prior 12 months. A preference will be given toward first-generation college students or students with demonstrated financial need.

The purpose of The Noel “Thorny” E. Thornsberry Fund is to offer financial support to the following funds managed by the Waterloo Community Foundation: Waterloo Youth City Council and Waterloo Public Library Endowment Fund.

The Panicucci Family Fund provides support for organizations and programs improving the health and well-being of residents in the Cedar Valley.

This $1,500 scholarship supports post-secondary education of students who may not otherwise be able to attend. Eligible students are graduating from an accredited high school in Waterloo, planning to attend a 2 or 4-year institution as a full or part-time student. They demonstrate positive engagement in their studies and extra-curricular activities, including volunteer service. They also demonstrate financial need.

Professional Office Services, Inc. (POS) offers $1,000 post-secondary scholarships to dependents of full-time POS employees at each plant location (Iowa, Florida, Minnesota, Utah, and Pittsburgh). To be eligible for a one-year scholarships, students must be the dependents of full-time employees at POS and must be (or will be) pursuing a degree at an accredited post-secondary educational institution.

This fund supports an annual financial management conference for women. In partnership with the Waterloo Community Foundation, this fund receives event sponsorships, registrations and pays for any related event expenses.

A scholarship established for the purpose of helping with the cost of advanced education for students graduating from West High School. This $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a student graduating from West High School with a minimum 3.5 GPA, attending a post-secondary institution in Iowa full-time, and showing involvement in extra-curricular activities, volunteer service, and/or work experience. Special considering will be given toward applicants currently holding positions of leadership.

A $1,000 annual scholarship award supporting students pursuing careers in technical theater. Eligible applicants include graduating seniors or past graduates from high schools in Black Hawk, Benton, Bremer, Buchanan, Butler, Grundy, or Tama County who are enrolled full-time at a not-for-profit 2- or 4-year college or university. Preference is given to those with experience at the Waterloo Community Playhouse or Black Hawk Children’s Theatre and those who have not previously received this scholarship.

Established by VGM Group, this $1,500 scholarship is offered to their student employees and students of full-time employees. Applicants must be a senior in high school and planning to pursue a degree at an accredited post-secondary institution and maintaining a minimum 3.0 GPA. Scholarship applications are independently reviewed by Foundation volunteers.

This fund supports the development of a new park and playground in the Walnut Neighborhood in partnership with Link CCD. The Waterloo African American Historical Resource Development Project will identify, protect, preserve, enhance, and promote Waterloo's African American historic places. This designation recognizes the historic importance of the united States' domestic involvement in WWII And ensures the continued preservation of a defining period in American history. The Willie Mae Wright Entrepreneurial Grant Fund will provide an annual $2,000 distribution to One Cedar Valley designated toward the SHIPHT Entrepreneurial Grant Program.

The scholarship was established to recognize volunteerism in students. One $1,000 scholarship is awarded annually to students graduating from West High, East High, or Expo and attending full-time at the University of Iowa, UNI, Iowa State University, or an Iowa community college. Eligible students are pursuing a major in a STEM field, are maintaining a minimum 2.9 GPA, and have given a minimum of 30 hours of volunteer service to the community in the prior 12 months.
